Internet i Sverige Enligt Björn Eriksen, teknisk chef på KTHNOC (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan), hade Internet i Sverige börjat sin breda utveckling runt 1987-1988. SUNET och NORDUnet etablerades då med avsikt att ta hand om ett allmänt nät för kommunikation via IP. Eriksen hade redan använt sig av IP för interna behov. EUnet (European Unix Network) hade kommit till Sverige 1983 och Exakt den 7 april 1983 klockan 14.02 startade kommunikation via EUnet i Sverige genom att Jim McKie skickade följande elektroniska brev till Björn Eriksen: -From: mcvax!jim, To: enea!ber, Subject: Hello You are now hooked to the mcvax.
